In a strategic move ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) has released its second list of candidates, naming 15 contenders for key constituencies. The latest roster includes prominent figures, with Ajay Choudhary standing as the Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate for the Sewri constituency, aiming to secure a crucial win for the Thackeray faction.
Among the notable inclusions in this list are Manoj Jamsutkar, who is slated to contest from Byculla, Sandesh Parkar from Kankavali, and Shraddha Jadhav representing the party in Wadala. These candidates are positioned to face tough competition as they strive to consolidate Shiv Sena (UBT)'s influence across key areas.
This announcement follows the release of Shiv Sena (UBT)?s first list earlier this week, where 65 candidates were unveiled, including high-profile names such as Aaditya Thackeray and Sunil Raut. Aaditya Thackeray will vie for a second term in the Worli constituency, while Sunil Raut is fielded in Vikroli. The Thackeray faction also made bold moves with Kedar Dighe, who will challenge Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in Kopri, and Unmesh Patil, competing in Chalisgaon. Additionally, in Pachora, Thackeray?s cousin Vaishali Suryavanshi is set to contest against Shinde MLA Kishor Appa Patil, while Nitin Deshmukh returns as the candidate for Balapur.
The release of the second list indicates Shiv Sena (UBT)?s commitment to securing influence in pivotal constituencies, particularly as the party aligns its candidates in direct contention with several key leaders of the ruling faction. The Thackeray-led party, since its split from the Eknath Shinde-led faction, is rallying to reestablish its grassroots support and ensure a strong presence in the upcoming elections.
