In a landmark announcement, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar declared that all beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme will start receiving benefits from July, even if their documentation is completed in August or later. Pawar made this announcement in the State Assembly, revealing crucial updates to the scheme’s eligibility and application deadlines to ensure broader access and support for women across Maharashtra. The scheme provides a monthly allowance of ₹1,500 to eligible women.

“We have decided to extend the deadline for applications till 31st August, and women up to the age of 65 years can apply instead of 60 years, as announced earlier,” Pawar stated. This extension aims to make the scheme more inclusive, offering vital financial assistance to a larger number of women in need.

Enhanced Eligibility Criteria for Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana

The updated eligibility criteria for receiving payments under the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana include:

  • Residency: Women residing in Maharashtra.
  • Age: Initially, the scheme was limited to women aged 21 to 60 years, but it now includes those up to 65 years old.
  • Economic Status: Beneficiaries should belong to economically weaker sections with an annual family income not exceeding ₹2.5 lakh.
  • Marital Status: The scheme covers married, widowed, divorced, abandoned, and economically vulnerable women.
  • Bank Account: Applicants must have a valid bank account for direct fund transfers.
  • Domicile Proof: Women born outside Maharashtra but married to men domiciled in the state can present their husband’s birth certificate or school leaving certificate as their domicile proof.
  • Income Proof: Families without an income certificate can use a yellow or orange ration card to waive the income requirement.
  • Unmarried Women: One unmarried woman from each family is eligible to avail the benefits.
  • Exclusions: Women with family members who are taxpayers or permanent/contractual employees of Central/State Government or any Public Undertaking are ineligible.

Required Documents for Application

To apply for the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, gather the following documents:

  • Proof of Maharashtra residence
  • Aadhaar card
  • Birth certificate (if from Maharashtra)
  • Income certificate (annual income up to ₹2.50 lakh)
  • Bank account information
  • Passport-sized photograph
  • Ration card (yellow or orange)

How to Apply

Eligible applicants can complete the application process for the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana online through the official portal, mobile app (Nari Shakti Doot), or Setu Suvidha Kendra. The steps are as follows:

  1. Online Application:
    • Visit the official portal and locate the ‘Apply Online’ link for the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana.
    • Fill out the application form with accurate details, including name, address, mobile number, age, and email ID.
    • Upload the required documents as specified.
    • Submit the application.
  2. Offline Application:
    • Visit Anganwadi Centers, Child Development Project Officer Offices, Gram Panchayats, or Setu Suvidha Kendras.
    • Trained personnel at these locations will assist in entering the information into the system.
