The leaders of the Mahayuti alliance, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction), met Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan on Wednesday to formally stake their claim to form the government. Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister-elect, was accompanied by outgoing CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar during the meeting at Raj Bhavan.
The delegation submitted a letter of support, demonstrating their majority in the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly. The Mahayuti alliance secured a resounding victory in the recently concluded elections, winning 230 seats and consolidating their position as the ruling coalition.
