Manish Sisodia Calls For Fight Against ‘Dictatorship’, Claims ‘Arvind Kejriwal Will Be Released In 24 Hours…’

His speech reflects ongoing tensions between AAP and BJP, with Sisodia's comments signaling a continued campaign against what he perceives as political persecution

In a passionate address to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers on Saturday, former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia rallied against what he described as a “dictatorship” orchestrated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This statement came just a day after his release from Tihar Jail, where he had been detained in connection with the Delhi excise policy case.

Addressing a large gathering at the AAP headquarters in Delhi, Sisodia criticized the BJP, asserting that their actions are not above the Constitution. “We are witnessing a dictatorship that is not only putting leaders behind bars but also harassing ordinary citizens,” Sisodia declared. His remarks underscore a broader campaign against what he views as political oppression.

Sisodia, who spent 17 months in jail, claimed that the BJP has been conspiring to undermine Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s reputation. He expressed optimism that Kejriwal would be released within 24 hours if opposition leaders unite against this “dictatorship.” “If the opposition stands together against this dictatorship, our ‘saarthi’ (charioteer) will be out in 24 hours,” Sisodia stated.

Reflecting on his incarceration, Sisodia revealed that the emotional support from his supporters and the hope for justice helped him endure the challenging period. “These tears have given me strength,” he said. Despite expecting justice within 7-8 months, he acknowledged that the legal process took 17 months but ultimately led to his release. “Honesty and truth have won,” Sisodia affirmed.

Sisodia also took aim at the BJP, criticizing their inability to demonstrate honest governance in any of their states. He praised the Supreme Court for its role in overturning what he termed as a “trampling of dictatorship,” and expressed relief that the judiciary had upheld the principles of justice and constitutional rights.

His speech reflects ongoing tensions between AAP and BJP, with Sisodia’s comments signaling a continued campaign against what he perceives as political persecution. The former Deputy CM’s statements have reignited discussions on political integrity and judicial fairness in the context of high-profile legal battles.
