Early Life and Education
Krishna Pancham Khopde was born on March 6, 1959, in Nagpur, Maharashtra. He comes from a large family with four brothers and four sisters. Khopde is a high school dropout.
Political Career
Krishna Khopde’s political journey began in the early 1990s when he became the President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Nagpur. At the age of 33, he was elected as a Corporator from the Satnami Nagar ward and served five consecutive terms from 1992 to 2014.
In 1995-1996, Khopde served as the Deputy Mayor of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. He was later elected as the Standing Committee Chairman of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation in 2008. His significant political breakthrough came in 2009 when he was elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, representing the Nagpur East constituency. He has been re-elected in subsequent terms, serving as an MLA since then.

- Defeating a Veteran: In 2009, Khopde created a major upset by defeating five-time MLA Satish Chaturvedi of the Indian National Congress.

The approved flyovers include:
- Reshimbagh to KDK College, Telephone Exchange Square to Bhande Plot – ₹251 crore.
- Chandrasekhar Azad Chowk to Marwari Chowk – ₹66 crore.
- Lakadganj Police Station to Wardhaman Nagar – ₹135 crore.
- Nandanvan, Rajendranagar Chowk to Hasanbaug Chowk – ₹66 crore.
- Wardhman Nagar to Nirmalnagari, Umred Road – ₹274 crore.
