Political Career

Krushna Gajbe is a prominent member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He has been representing the Armori Assembly Constituency in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly since 2014. Gajbe made a significant mark in his political career by defeating the two-time Congress MLA Anandrao Gedam in the 2014 elections. This victory established him as a “giant-killer” in the political arena.

Major Achievements

During his tenure, Gajbe has focused on various developmental projects in his constituency. He has been actively involved in improving infrastructure, healthcare, and educational facilities in the Gadchiroli district. His efforts have been recognized for contributing to the betterment of the local community, especially in a region known for its challenges due to Naxalite activities.

Key Political Initiatives

Gajbe has launched several key initiatives aimed at rural development and social welfare. He has worked on enhancing road connectivity, promoting agricultural advancements, and ensuring better access to healthcare services. His initiatives have also focused on empowering tribal communities and improving the quality of life for the underprivileged sections of society.

MLA Krushna Gajbe recently inaugurated a water purification plant (RO) in Deulgaon, Arattondi, Kurkheda Taluka. This project, approved through his special efforts, is funded by the Gadchiroli District Mineral Foundation and costs approximately ₹10 lakh.

MLA Krushna Gajbe inspected the flood-affected villages of Kinhala and Mohtola in Desai Ganj Taluka. He interacted with local residents, assessed the damage to crops, and instructed the Tehsildar to conduct immediate surveys. The flood, caused by the overflowing Gadavi River, severely impacted these villages.

Demand for Uniform Salary Increase for MSRTC Employees Krushna Gajbe has advocated for a uniform salary increase for employees of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC). He has demanded that instead of variable increments of ₹5000, ₹4000, and ₹2500, all employees should receive a uniform raise of ₹5000. Additionally, he has called for the implementation of cashless medical schemes for both indoor and outdoor treatments for these employees. This decision is still pending, leading various unions to prepare for protests.

Initiatives for Better Transportation in Rural Areas Gajbe has been instrumental in addressing the transportation needs of rural areas. He has proposed the replacement of old, deteriorated buses with new, high-quality vehicles to ensure safe and comfortable travel for citizens, particularly in the Vidarbha, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli regions. This initiative is aimed at providing better services to students and economically disadvantaged citizens.

Support for Women and Students Gajbe has also focused on the needs of women and students. He has implemented schemes to provide better transportation options for women, ensuring that each depot has buses that cater to their needs. These efforts aim to enhance safety and comfort for female passengers.

Ministerial Response and Salary Adjustments In response to the demands for salary adjustments, the government clarified that salaries for state employees are typically revised every ten years through the Pay Commission. However, for MSRTC employees, salary revisions are discussed every four years in recognized union meetings. Due to legal issues, the salary agreement for 2020-2024 could not be finalized. Despite this, the government has provided interim raises: ₹5000 for employees with up to ten years of service, ₹4000 for those with ten to twenty years, and ₹2500 for those with more than twenty years of service.

Recent Employee Protests On September 11, 2023, some MSRTC employees protested due to the pending salary agreement and other issues. The government acknowledged the protest and emphasized its commitment to resolving the employees’ concerns through continued negotiations.
