MNS Leader Prakash Mahajan Calls For Ajit Pawar’s Arrest Under Section 307 Following Activist’s Death

This incident has further strained the already volatile political atmosphere in Maharashtra, highlighting the deep-seated animosities

The political rivalry between the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has taken a violent turn, culminating in the vandalism of NCP MLA Amol Mitkari’s car by MNS workers. The incident, which occurred yesterday, has sparked a new wave of political controversy and accusations.

The situation intensified when an MNS worker who was present during the rally succumbed to a heart attack. MNS leader Prakash Mahajan blamed the stress induced by the confrontation with Mitkari for the worker’s death, accusing Mitkari of exacerbating the situation with his inflammatory comments about MNS chief Raj Thackeray.

The conflict began when Mitkari referred to Raj Thackeray as a “Suparibaaz”, a term that enraged MNS supporters. In response, MNS workers vandalized Mitkari’s car. Following the incident, Mitkari staged a dharna (protest) at the local police station, demanding that a case be registered against the perpetrators.

Prakash Mahajan has now called for severe legal action against Mitkari, as well as NCP leaders Umesh Patil and Ajit Pawar, under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code (culpable homicide). Mahajan’s demand is based on the assertion that the stress caused by Mitkari’s actions led to the MNS worker’s heart attack and subsequent death.

“Amol Mitkari is in a constitutional position, and yet he chose to use derogatory language against Raj Saheb (Raj Thackeray). The Prime Minister himself has mentioned corruption worth 70 thousand crores involving the Jarandeshwar factory. How can you blame Raj Thackeray for these issues when the NCP is clearly involved?” Mahajan questioned, highlighting the broader allegations of corruption against the NCP.

Mahajan further criticized Ajit Pawar’s role in the ongoing political dynamics, suggesting that Pawar might be looking for an excuse to exit the grand alliance. He insinuated that Mitkari’s comments could be a deliberate attempt to create discord within the coalition.

“There is no place left for Ajit Pawar in the grand alliance, and he needs a reason to leave. Mahayuti leader and Raj Thackeray have personal relations. This may be an idea from Amol Mitkari’s rotten brain that if Raj Thackeray is accused somewhere, something will go wrong in the grand coalition,” Mahajan stated.

He also questioned the integrity of the NCP’s alliances and their previous dependence on MNS support during elections. “When the MNS supported Sunil Tatkare in Raigad, wasn’t Raj Thackeray a betel nut then? You were needed then. If the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena had not stood by Sunil Tatkare in Raigad, what would have been the picture?” Mahajan asked.

The MNS leader concluded with a stern demand: “There is a lot of rotten brain behind all this. As a result, we lost a young activist. Therefore, Amol Mitkari, Umesh Patil, Ajit Dada should be booked under Section 307.”
