Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally at Shivaji Park in Dadar on Thursday, November 14, has led Mumbai Traffic Police to issue a comprehensive advisory, urging commuters to prepare for significant traffic disruptions across the city. With Maharashtra gearing up for elections on November 20, the rally has generated heightened anticipation and support, drawing large crowds, including Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters from across the state.
The Mumbai Traffic Police has highlighted potential “inconveniences” along major city routes, particularly the Western Express Highway (WEH), linking the airport to Dadar, and critical roads connecting the Bandra-Worli Sea Link to Dadar via Worli and Shivaji Park. In their advisory issued on Tuesday, November 12, they cautioned travelers to “plan their journeys accordingly to avoid delays.”
The temporary traffic order will be enforced from 10 a.m. to midnight on November 14, 2024, covering the areas surrounding Shivaji Park in Dadar (West), Mumbai. The advisory reminds the public that increased security and road closures are expected to accommodate the influx of attendees, making travel in and around Dadar challenging for the duration of the event.
With Maharashtra’s political climate charged and Election Day approaching, this rally signifies a strategic moment for the BJP, aiming to mobilize support under the leadership of PM Modi and top Maharashtra officials.
