Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik on Monday asserted that the people of Mumbai will ultimately decide who becomes the city’s Mayor, stressing that his party does not believe in divisive politics based on religion, caste, or language.
Speaking on the issue, Malik underlined the NCP’s inclusive political approach and contrasted it with parties that, he alleged, rely on identity-based narratives. “The citizens of this country, the people living here, and the residents of Mumbai will decide who becomes the Mayor. We do not do politics based on religion or caste. People need to understand that while some play politics on religion or language, we have a history of including all communities in our politics...” he said.
