On the first day of the 18th Lok Sabha session, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, highlighting ten major issues that occurred in its first 15 days. He accused PM Modi of being distracted by political crises and neglecting critical national issues.
In a post on X, Gandhi listed several incidents and problems from recent days, including a tragic train accident in West Bengal and terror attacks in Kashmir.
“First 15 days of NDA: Horrific train accident, terrorist attacks in Kashmir, plight of train passengers, NEET scam, NEET PG canceled, UGC NET paper leak, rising milk, pulses, gas, and toll prices, forests blazing with fire, water crisis, and deaths due to lack of arrangements during the heat wave,” Gandhi wrote.
He claimed that Modi is “psychologically on the back foot” and focused on saving his government. Gandhi also accused Modi and his government of attacking the Constitution, stating, “The attack on the Constitution by Narendra Modi and his government is not acceptable to us – and we will not allow this to happen under any circumstances.”
Gandhi promised that the opposition, under the I.N.D.I.A bloc, will continue to pressure the government and hold it accountable. “We will not allow the Prime Minister to escape without accountability,” he added.
To emphasize their commitment, leaders of the I.N.D.I.A bloc, holding copies of the Constitution, marched to the Lok Sabha chamber.
Gandhi specifically called out PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing them of undermining the Constitution. “We will not allow the attack on the Constitution that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah are doing,” he told reporters in the Parliament complex.
