In a bid to reassure the public amid rising concerns, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has called for calm, emphasizing that there is no cause for panic or mass movement.

"There is no need for people to fear. They don't have to run away from here. Schools in Jammu and Srinagar are open, though the airport in Srinagar is shut," said the Chief Minister during a press briefing on the current situation in the Valley.

While the closure of the Srinagar airport sparked a wave of speculation and anxiety, Abdullah clarified that essential services remain unaffected. “Right now, there is no need to panic. There is no shortage of essential commodities, no shortage of supplies in blood banks of hospitals... the highway is open for traffic...” he assured.

Despite the temporary suspension of air traffic, the government has ensured continued access to key resources, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation to prevent misinformation or unrest.

Educational institutions in both Jammu and Srinagar are functioning normally, signaling administrative stability. Traffic on the national highway is also moving without disruption, which is crucial for the transportation of food, medical supplies, and daily necessities.
