Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged people across India to remove ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ (Modi’s family) from their social media handles. This call comes after several BJP leaders and social media users added ‘Modi ka Parivar’ to their profiles in March in a show of solidarity with PM Modi following a remark by RJD chief Lalu Yadav about ‘Parivarvaad’ (dynasty politics).
In a recent post, PM Modi expressed gratitude for the support he received from this gesture during the election campaign. “Through the election campaign, people across India added ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ to their social media as a mark of affection towards me. I derived a lot of strength from it,” he stated. However, with the election mandate secured, he requested that people now remove it from their profiles.
Addressing the issue of ‘Parivarvaad’, Lalu Yadav had made comments about PM Modi’s personal life during a rally in Patna. Reacting to this, PM Modi responded during an address in Telangana, stating that his life is an open book, and he considers the entire nation as his family. “My life is an open book, 140 crore people of the country are my family. Today, crores of daughters, mothers and sisters of the country are Modi’s family. Every poor person in the country is my family,” he emphasized.
PM Modi’s remarks come amidst political exchanges regarding ‘Parivarvaad’, with leaders from different parties trading barbs over family politics. Despite the controversy, PM Modi asserts that his commitment remains to the nation and its people, portraying a message of inclusivity and unity.
