PM Modi Embarks On Key Diplomatic Tour To France And US; Talks With Macron, Trump On Agenda

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday departed for a four-day diplomatic visit to France and the United States, where he will engage in high-level discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron and US President Donald Trump.

Before leaving, PM Modi expressed enthusiasm for the visit, stating, “Over the next few days, I will be in France and the USA to take part in various programmes.”

During his stay in France from February 10-12, PM Modi will co-chair the AI Action Summit, reinforcing India’s role in global artificial intelligence governance. He will also hold bilateral talks with President Emmanuel Macron to further strengthen India-France ties. Additionally, the two leaders will travel to Marseille to inaugurate a new Indian Consulate.

Following his France visit, PM Modi will head to the United States from February 12-14, marking his first in-person meeting with President Donald Trump since Trump’s second-term inauguration. The discussions in Washington DC are expected to focus on defense, trade, technology, and strategic cooperation.

Highlighting the strong Indo-US partnership, PM Modi stated, “This visit will further cement India-USA friendship.” The two leaders have already spoken twice over the phone since November 2024, underlining their commitment to closer cooperation.
