BJP's Central Election Committee Meeting

Later, the Prime Minister attended the BJP?s Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting, where leaders, including BJP President JP Nadda and Union Ministers, gathered to finalize the second list of candidates for the 2025 Delhi Assembly Elections. The meeting was a crucial step in the party?s preparations for the upcoming polls.

On January 4, the BJP had already released its first list of 29 candidates for the Delhi elections. This list included key figures such as Parvesh Verma and Ramesh Bidhuri. Verma is set to contest against AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi constituency, while Bidhuri will face Delhi Chief Minister Atishi in the Kalkaji seat.

Countdown to Delhi Elections

The elections for the 70-member Delhi Legislative Assembly are scheduled for February 5, 2025, with the votes being counted on February 8, 2025. The results will be declared on the same day. The main contest in these elections is expected to be between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the BJP, with Congress also hoping to break its 10-year dry spell in the capital.
