February 5: A Day of Spiritual Significance
The Prime Minister’s visit coincides with Magh Ashtami and Bhishma Ashtami, both considered highly auspicious in Hindu tradition.
Magh Ashtami: Devotees take a holy dip at Sangam, perform charitable acts, and engage in meditation. This day also aligns with Gupt Navratri, a period of deep spiritual practices.
Bhishma Ashtami: This day is dedicated to Bhishma Pitamah from the Mahabharata, who chose to leave his mortal body on this day when the Sun transitioned into Uttarayan.
With Mahakumbh 2025 expected to attract millions of devotees, PM Modi’s visit is seen as a momentous event, reinforcing the spiritual and cultural significance of this grand congregation.
