Advocate Shahajibapu Rajaram Patil hails from Solapur, Maharashtra, where he grew up and pursued his education. Shahajibapu Patil began his political journey with the Indian National Congress and became an MLA for the first time in 1995 after defeating Ganpatrao Deshmukh of the Peasants and Workers Party of India. He later joined Shiv Sena in 2014 and has been serving as a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from the Sangola Vidhan Sabha constituency. During the 2022 Maharashtra political crisis, he joined the rebel faction led by Eknath Shinde.

Promises and Future Commitments
MLA Shahajibapu successfully mediated an end to the indefinite hunger strike held by the Masanjogi community in front of the Sangola Tehsil office. The community, living in extreme poverty and traditionally working in graveyards, demanded permanent accommodation for Hindu graveyard and Muslim burial ground workers in Maharashtra. Shahajibapu promised to follow up with the government to ensure these demands are met and justice is served. After his assurances, hunger strikers Chandu Gangaram Irewad, Santosh Subhash Sagawane, and Shivraj Subhash Upevad ended their fast by drinking lemon water.
MLA Shahajibapu, with CM Eknath Shinde, inaugurated the Vita bus stand reconstruction and the 6th phase of the Tembhu Irrigation Scheme. He paid tribute to late MLA Anilbhau Babar and discussed Sangola’s development with the Chief Minister.
Since being elected as Sangola’s MLA, Shahajibapu has focused on addressing local issues and implementing development schemes. The Sangola Municipal Council has approved ₹20 crores for the construction of social halls, seminaries, community temples, and other development projects across the constituency.
MLA Shahajibapu initiated the installation of paving blocks at Sangola’s Ambabai and Gurudatta temples, interacting with citizens during the event. These temples, significant to lakhs of devotees, have received government funding for improved facilities. With various projects completed, the MLA remains committed to the development of temples and religious sites in the constituency.
MLA Shahajibapu, through consistent efforts, secured ₹25 lakhs for development work near the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar statue in Sangola, aiming to enhance the area as part of his commitment to the town’s overall development.
