    Early Life and Education

    Amit Vilasrao Deshmukh was born on March 21, 1976, in Latur, Maharashtra. He is the eldest son of the late Vilasrao Deshmukh, a two-time Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and Vaishali Deshmukh. Amit completed his schooling in Latur and pursued higher education in Mumbai.

    Political Career

    Amit Deshmukh entered politics following the legacy of his father. He has been elected multiple times from the Latur City constituency as a representative of the Indian National Congress. He holds a significant position within the party and has served as a Minister for Public Works, Public Health, and Family Welfare in the Maharashtra government. His political career is marked by consistent efforts to improve civic amenities and public health infrastructure in his constituency.

    Amit has been instrumental in several developmental projects in Latur. His contributions include initiating projects for better waste management and improving water supply systems in the region.     Promises and Future Commitments

    MLA Amit Deshmukh initiated a Rs 200 crore project for a sectional office and other facilities during his tenure as Guardian Minister of Latur. He also secured Rs 173 crore for a ‘Sarathi’ organization project that includes a hostel and training centers for the Maratha community. He recently reviewed the construction progress and emphasized timely completion.

    MLA visited Vasantnagar Tanda in Latur city constituency to review ongoing development works. He listened to citizens’ issues and directed officials to address them promptly.

    MLA visited Gharani, Chakur, where soybean crops suffered significant damage due to heavy rains. He met with farmers to understand their issues and instructed officials to conduct proper assessments and expedite crop insurance claims.

    MLA inspected the construction work of the new Agricultural Produce Market Committee on Barshi Road, Latur. The market, spread over 112 acres in the MIDC area, aims to provide facilities for farmers and traders. Key instructions included ensuring quality roadwork, effective drainage systems, tree plantation around the compound, and proper infrastructure for electricity and water supply. He emphasized accelerating the project and planning for future parking needs considering the anticipated vehicle increase.

    MLA conducted a survey of the road between Government Women Technology to the airport, emphasizing the importance of maintaining road quality. Instructions were given to officials to ensure proper drainage and water management during the construction process.
