    Early Life and Education

    Dhiraj Vilasrao Deshmukh was born on April 6, 1980, in Latur, Maharashtra. He is the youngest son of the late Vilasrao Deshmukh, a two-time Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and Vaishali Deshmukh. Dhiraj completed his schooling in Latur and pursued higher education in Mumbai.

    Political Career

    Dhiraj Deshmukh began his political journey at the grassroots level, serving as the President of the Youth Congress in Latur District in 2014. He was elected as a member of the Latur Zilla Parishad from 2017 to 2019. In the 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections, he won the Latur Rural seat with a significant margin, representing the Indian National Congress (INC).

    Major Achievements

    During his tenure, Dhiraj has initiated several development projects aimed at improving infrastructure, education, and healthcare in Latur. Notably, his involvement in organizing the “Gramin T10 Cricket Tournament,” which saw participation from over 300 teams and 5000 players, highlights his efforts to promote sports and provide a platform for rural youth to showcase their talents. This initiative has been praised for nurturing grassroots-level talent and fostering a culture of sports in rural Maharashtra.

    Personal Life

    Dhiraj Deshmukh is married to Deepshikha Deshmukh, a film producer. They have two children. He is also the younger brother of Amit Deshmukh, a fellow politician, and Riteish Deshmukh, a well-known Bollywood actor.

    Promises and Future Commitments

    MLA Dhiraj Deshmukh inaugurated a 350 kW solar energy project at the Rena Co-operative Sugar Factory in Dilipnagar (Niwada), Renapur taluka. He also conducted the Bhoomipujan for the factory’s new administrative building, emphasizing his commitment to enhancing local infrastructure and promoting renewable energy solutions​.

    In the Latur Rural constituency, Dhiraj Deshmukh is actively engaged in addressing the road work demands for the Pangaon to Khola Party road on National Highway No. 361H. He is collaborating with local leaders, including Deputy Sarpanch Ramakant Waghmare and Mr. Jafar Sheikh, who are leading a chain fasting at Khola Phata to emphasize the urgency of the issue. Deshmukh has also taken the initiative to inform Central Minister Nitin Gadkari about the situation to expedite the necessary solutions​(
