Dnyanraj Chougule has represented the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, winning three consecutive elections from Umarga in Osmanabad. Initially, he started his political journey with the support of Uddhav Thackeray, but later, in a significant political shift, he aligned with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde during the split within Shiv Sena. Additionally, he facilitated the construction of a gymnasium for youth, intra-village cement roads, paver blocks, and school repairs, greatly enhancing infrastructure and public amenities in the area.
MLA Chaugule, along with Yuva Sena Divisional Inspector Kiran Gaikwad, performed the Bhoomipujan for the construction of an assembly hall near the Vitthal Rukmini temple in Umarga, funded by the Agriculture Produce Market Committee with Rs. 25 lakhs.
