Kalidas Nilkanth Kolambkar was born in Naigaon, Maharashtra. He completed his education up to the higher secondary level.
Political Career
Kolambkar is a seasoned politician, having been elected as an MLA eight times from the Wadala constituency. He began his political journey with the Shiv Sena in the 1990s and won four consecutive terms as an MLA under the party’s banner. During his tenure with Shiv Sena, he also served as a State Minister under the leadership of Narayan Rane.
In 2004, when Narayan Rane left Shiv Sena to join the Congress, Kolambkar followed suit and was successful in securing victories in the subsequent Assembly elections. He continued with Congress until 2014, when he faced defeat, coinciding with the rise of the Modi wave. Subsequently, in 2019, Kolambkar joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and won the Wadala seat again with a decisive margin of over 26,000 votes.
