    Early Life and Education

    Mahendra Dalvi is currently the MLA from Alibag, Maharashtra, representing the Shiv Sena (SS) party. He won the seat in the 2019 elections.     Controversies

    2013 Assault Case

    One of the significant controversies involving Mahendra Hari Dalvi is related to an assault case from 2013. Dalvi, along with his followers, was accused of assaulting Babu alias Salim Lalasaheb Digi in Thal, Raigad district. They were charged under IPC Section 324 (assault) and other relevant provisions. Although the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act was also invoked, the charges under this Act were not proven.

    In May 2022, a court in Raigad district convicted Dalvi and sentenced him to two years’ imprisonment. However, the Bombay High Court later suspended his conviction, allowing him to continue serving as an MLA while his appeal is pending.

    Shiv Sena (Shinde group) MLA Mahendra Dalvi’s car collided with a two-wheeler near Usdi village, resulting in the death of the rider, Jasim Abdul Rehman Pasware. The accident occurred as Dalvi was on his way to a foundation stone-laying ceremony. A case has been registered against the driver of Dalvi’s car, and the biker was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

    Personal Life

    Mahendra Dalvi resides in Vaishet, Alibag, with his wife, Mansi Dalvi, who is also a businessperson. His approach to politics is closely tied to his personal life as a businessman and agriculturist, enabling him to connect with various segments of society. Despite the challenges, he has maintained his focus on serving his constituency through active public engagement.

    Promises and Future Commitments

    On Independence Day, MLA Mahendra Dalvi celebrated the completion of Sarai road work funded before Ganapati. The project, led by Shri. Praveen Raut, was finished successfully. Dalvi, accompanied by local villagers and Shiv Sena activists, received thanks from the community for the development.

    MLA Mahendra Dalvi announced that Rs. 29 crores in funding has been approved for major road improvements in Alibag, Murud, and Roha cities. This commitment follows recent promises to address residents’ concerns, with work scheduled to begin soon.

    MLA Mahendra Dalvi inaugurated several development projects in Alibag taluka, including road constructions under the Mumbai Metropolitan Development Authority and External Road Development schemes. The projects include roads from Rajmala to Tupe’s house, Ashish Mhatre to Surendra Mhatre’s house, Gopinath Sutar to Arun Mhatre’s house, and the construction of a protective wall on the Bamanoli river.
