    Prakash Anandrao Abitkar was born on June 30, 1974, in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. He completed his education and graduated from a local institution. His early life was marked by his involvement in agricultural activities and business, which laid the foundation for his political career.

    Prakashrao Abitkar’s political career started at the grassroots level, where he contested elections for the Panchayat Samiti and became a member at just 21 years old. His early success laid the foundation for his rise in local governance, where he served as Vice President of the Panchayat Samiti and later won a seat in the Zilla Parishad. His growing influence among the youth of his constituency led him to a leadership role under the guidance of prominent politicians, including Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader K.P. Patil​

    Abitkar is currently an MLA representing the Radhanagari constituency in Maharashtra.     MLA Prakash Anandrao Abitkar inaugurated the Khanapur Primary School under the Babasaheb Ambedkar Adarsh School Yojana with a funding of ₹1 crore 57 lakh. This initiative, attended by Hon’ble Minister Chandrakant Dada Patil, aims to significantly enhance educational facilities in the region.

    A fund of ₹1 crore 57 lakh has been approved for the construction of a new building for the Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Adarsh School in Khanapur, District Bhudargarh. This initiative aims to improve educational infrastructure and provide better facilities for students in the region.

    The Bhoomipujan ceremony for the Upazila Hospital in Kasba Tarle was held with enthusiasm, marking a significant advancement in healthcare for the residents of Radhanagari and Gaganbawda talukas. This hospital is expected to serve around 50 to 60 villages, greatly improving health services in the area. The project was driven by local youth groups and received support from Eknath Shinde, leading to the approval of a ₹23.38 crore fund for the hospital’s upgrade. This development will facilitate timely access to healthcare for citizens in Kasba Tarle and its surrounding villages.

    The Basudev-Bhujai Irrigation Scheme in Bhudargad and Radhanagari talukas, which will irrigate hundreds of acres of land, has begun its survey. After 27 years, this long-awaited project is finally set to transform the region by providing water to barren lands. MLA Prakash Abitkar played a key role in pushing this initiative, fulfilling a major commitment to the local farming community. The event was attended by local leaders, dignitaries, and farmers.
