Political Career
Prakashanna Awade is currently a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), having joined the party in 2023. He has been serving as an MLA from the Ichalkaranji Assembly constituency since 2019. He has also held the position of Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in previous terms, specifically from 1995-1999, 1999-2004, and 2004-2009

Promises and Future Commitments
MLA Prakashanna Awade, through special efforts, facilitated the installation of a highmast light and paving blocks near Niramay Hospital, Ichalkaranji. These projects were funded with support from the Chief Minister and the MLA fund to improve basic amenities in the area.
MLA Prakashanna Awade, along with Zilla Parishad Member Dr. Rahul Awade, distributed ₹10,000 each to 578 flood-affected families in Ichalkaranji and nearby areas. A total of ₹57.8 lakh was provided as compensation, with support from the state government. The initiative aimed to offer relief to those displaced by the floods, and Awade expressed gratitude to the government for facilitating the compensation.
With the efforts of MLA Prakashanna Awade and Zilla Parishad Member Dr. Rahul Awade, the state government removed the technical conditions for power concessions in the textile industry. This change grants an additional electricity subsidy of 75 paise per unit for looms above 27 horsepower and ₹1 per unit for looms below 27 horsepower. Awade’s initiative helps the local textile industry reduce costs, supporting weavers and boosting production efficiency.
MLA Prakashanna Awade, along with Zilla Parishad Member Dr. Rahul Awade, secured ₹6 crore under the Yash Gram Vikas Yojana to provide essential facilities for the villages of Kabanur, Korochi, Chandur, Khotwadi, and Tardal. This funding aims to improve basic infrastructure and services in these areas. Awade expressed gratitude to the state government for approving the funds, highlighting his commitment to rural development.
