Prithviraj Chavan was born on March 17, 1946, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He pursued his education in mechanical engineering, earning a B.E. (Hons) from BITS Pilani and an M.S. from the University of California, Berkeley. He is MLA from Karad South.
