Rajan Salvi is a senior member of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction), representing the Rajapur Vidhan Sabha constituency. His political journey is marked by three consecutive terms in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He was first elected in 2009, securing re-election in both 2014 and 2019, reflecting the strong support from his constituency. Salvi has played a significant role in Maharashtra politics, especially within the Konkan region.
In 2022, he became a prominent candidate for the Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly post, nominated by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, a coalition formed by Shiv Sena, Congress, and NCP.
