    Early Life and Education

Sanjay Chandrakant Jagtap was born on January 1, 1970, in Pune, Maharashtra. He completed his schooling in Pune and pursued higher education in commerce, earning a Bachelor’s degree from Pune University.

    Political Career

Sanjay Jagtap is a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) and serves as an MLA from the Purandar constituency. His political career has been focused on addressing regional development and the welfare of his constituency. He has been vocal in the legislative assembly regarding issues affecting Purandar and the surrounding areas, especially infrastructural development and water resource management. Jagtap has also been an advocate for policies that benefit rural communities, aligning with the Congress party’s platform.

    Major Achievements

One of Jagtap’s significant achievements has been his persistent push for developmental works in his constituency. Despite facing challenges, including a stay on certain development projects, he approached the Bombay High Court to seek relief and ensure that the necessary improvements in Purandar are not stalled. His efforts led to the continuation of road construction, water resource projects, and other essential works (PUNE PULSE – Trusted-Connected-Targeted).

Additionally, Jagtap has played a key role in ensuring compensation for farmers affected by unseasonal rains, highlighting his commitment to the agricultural sector. His advocacy for the resumption of halted works due to political reasons has further demonstrated his resolve to serve the people of his constituency without letting political roadblocks hinder progress.

    Key Political Initiatives

MLA Sanjay Jagtap of the Purandar constituency has highlighted the urgent infrastructure challenges faced by residents of merged villages, urging the state government to prioritize essential services like water supply and drainage. Despite paying significant property taxes, many villagers rely on water tankers for their daily needs. Jagtap’s call for action underscores the disparity between taxes paid and the lack of adequate services, emphasizing the need for comprehensive solutions to improve living conditions in these communities.

Congress MLA Sanjay Jagtap from Purandar has approached the Bombay High Court to lift a stay on developmental works in his constituency, claiming that the ruling party halted projects for political reasons. He argues that this has caused significant inconvenience to residents, as essential works related to water, roads, and compensation for unseasonal rains remain pending. Jagtap emphasized that the Chief Minister’s initial promises to expedite these projects have not been fulfilled.
