
Early Life and Education
Zeeshan Ziauddin Siddique was born on October 15, 1992, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He completed his schooling at Bombay Scottish School, Mahim, and pursued higher education at the University of Mumbai, where he earned a degree in Commerce. He later went on to complete his MBA from the prestigious London School of Economics.
Political Career
Zeeshan Siddique is a member of the Indian National Congress (INC). He entered politics inspired by his father, Baba Siddique, a veteran politician and former MLA. Zeeshan contested and won the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election from the Bandra East constituency in 2019, marking his entry into active politics.

In August 2024, an FIR was registered against Zeeshan Siddique and seven others for allegedly obstructing Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) officials from conducting a survey in a slum pocket in Bandra East. The case was filed under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, for obstructing public servants in the discharge of their duty.
2. Alleged Defection and Criticism of Congress Leadership
In August 2024, Zeeshan Siddique joined Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s ‘Jan Sanman Yatra’ and criticized former Congress President Rahul Gandhi. This move coincided with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s visit to Mumbai, leading to speculations about Siddique’s potential defection from the Congress party.
3. Allegations of Discrimination within Congress
Earlier in 2024, Zeeshan Siddique alleged that he faced discrimination within the Congress party due to his Muslim identity. He claimed that he was body-shamed and discriminated against, which led to his removal as the Mumbai Youth Congress President.
