    Controversy

MP Suresh Mhatre, also known as Balya Mama, has pledged to address local land encroachment issues, accusing builders Sridhar, Bharat, and Nitin Patil of unauthorized construction on approximately 26 acres of government and forest land in Kalher. Mhatre alleges that the builders exploited middle-class citizens and used intimidation tactics, allegedly with ties to former MP Kapil Patil and his family. In response, Kapil Patil’s nephew, Devesh Patil, dismissed these allegations as baseless and announced plans to issue a legal notice to Mhatre. (ABP)

MMRDA took action against the warehouses owned by MP candidate Suresh Mhatre, also known as Balya Mama, targeting his facility at RK Lodgy Park in Yewai. This action coincided with the announcement of his Lok Sabha candidature for Bhiwandi on behalf of the NCP. Mhatre, however, claims political motives are behind the MMRDA’s actions, suggesting rival BJP candidate Kapil Patil may have influenced the decision. Mhatre defended his warehouses, asserting that he secured a High Court stay order to protect the structures and emphasized the warehouses’ economic role, providing employment for 90,000 youths in the area.
