    Early Life and Education

    Born on July 1, 1972, in Hanol, a village in the Bhavnagar district of Gujarat, Dr. Mandaviya hails from a modest background. He pursued his early education in his native village and later graduated with a Master’s degree in Political Science from Bhavnagar University.

    Political Career

    Dr. Mandaviya’s political journey commenced in 1996 when he joined the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). His leadership skills led to his appointment as the President of the Palitana Taluka BJP in 1998. In 2002, he was elected as the youngest Member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly from the Palitana constituency, serving until 2007. He further enhanced his political career by serving as the Chairman of Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation Limited in 2011. In 2012, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha and re-elected in 2018. He joined the Narendra Modi government in 2016 as a junior minister.

    • Khelo India Rising Talent Identification (KIRTI) Programme: In July 2024, he led the launch of Phase 2 of this program in New Delhi, aiming to identify young sports talent using modern technology, with a target of 20 lakh assessments across India in the fiscal year 2024-25.
    • eShram – One Stop Solution: In October 2024, he launched this platform in New Delhi to simplify the registration process for unorganized workers and connect them to various government welfare schemes, providing seamless access to social security benefits.
    • Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced that the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) will launch its advanced software system, EPFO 3.0, by June 2025.
