Pratibha Dhanorkar is a member of the Indian National Congress (INC). She has held various significant positions throughout her political career:
Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha: Representing the Chandrapur constituency since June 2024.
Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly: Represented the Warora Assembly constituency from October 2019 to June 2024.

MP Pratibha Dhanorkar met Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal to address the challenges faced by grain shopkeepers in Chandrapur and Yavatmal. She highlighted issues like low commission rates, technical problems with 4G e-pass machines, and delayed payments. The minister assured her that these problems would be resolved soon.
MP Pratibha Dhanorkar successfully advocated for the suspension of the Lower Panganga project in Yavatmal district, which had faced opposition from villagers for 27 years. The Anti-Panganga Committee raised concerns about the project’s lack of proper permissions and the rehabilitation issues for displaced villagers. After Dhanorkar presented the villagers’ grievances to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during the Nagpur winter session, he ordered a halt to the project until further studies were conducted. Villagers expressed their gratitude to MP Dhanorkar for her efforts in securing this suspension.
