Rahul Singh Lodhi is an Indian politician affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), currently serving as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Damoh constituency in Madhya Pradesh.
Born on December 6, 1977, in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, Rahul Singh Lodhi completed his higher secondary education.
He is the nephew of Uma Bharti, a former Union Minister and Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.
Political Career
Rahul Singh Lodhi began his political journey with the Indian National Congress (INC). In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, he contested from the Damoh constituency and secured a victory by defeating BJP veteran Jayant Malaiya by 798 votes.
In October 2020, he switched allegiance to the BJP. Subsequently, he contested the 2021 by-election from Damoh but was defeated by Congress’s Ajay Kumar Tandon by 17,097 votes.
However, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Lodhi made a significant comeback by winning the Damoh parliamentary seat, defeating INC’s Tarvar Lodhi by a margin of 406,426 votes.
