Sandhya Ray is an Indian politician affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), representing the Bhind constituency in Madhya Pradesh as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha.
Born on January 4, 1974, in Kamra, Morena district, Madhya Pradesh, Sandhya Ray is the daughter of Sabharam Tainguriya and Ram Katori Bai Tainguriya. She pursued higher education, earning a Master of Arts (M.A.) and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Jiwaji University, Barkatullah Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal, and Government State Level Law College, Bhopal.
Political Career
Ray’s political journey began in 2000 when she was elected as the President of the Farmers’ Market (Mandi Adhyaksh) in Ambah, Morena district, a position reserved for women that year. She then served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Dimani constituency in Madhya Pradesh from 2003 to 2008. In 2019, she was elected to the 17th Lok Sabha, representing the Bhind constituency. She secured re-election in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, defeating Indian National Congress candidate Phool Singh Baraiya by a margin of 64,840 votes.
