Vasantrao Balwantrao Chavan was born on August 15, 1954, in Naigaon taluka, Nanded, Maharashtra. He completed his education up to the B.Com (II Year) level.
Political Career
Vasantrao Chavan was a member of the Indian National Congress (INC). He began his political journey as an independent member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, representing the Naigaon Assembly constituency in 2009. In May 2014, he was appointed to the Legislative Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee. He joined the Indian National Congress in September 2014 and was re-elected to the 13th Maharashtra Assembly as a Congress party member. In the 2024 Lok Sabha election, he was elected to the 18th Lok Sabha representing the Nanded constituency. However, Congress MP from Nanded, passed away on August 26, 2024, in Hyderabad due to prolonged illness and renal issues.. He was 70 years old.His death was a significant loss for the Congress party and his constituency.
