Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje delivered a powerful message to newly appointed state BJP Chief Madan Rathore today, emphasizing that position and arrogance are fleeting, but genuine leadership and service leave a lasting legacy. Raje’s remarks came during a grand function organized to welcome Rathore to his new role.
“Politics is synonymous with ups and downs,” Raje said. “When a leader thinks about this, three things come to mind: position, stature, and arrogance. Position and arrogance are not permanent, but if you do good work, then stature becomes permanent. If there is arrogance, then the stature reduces.”
Raje underscored that the highest position for any leader is the love and trust of the people, a position that cannot be taken away. “This is such a position that no one can take away from you,” she affirmed, adding her commitment to working together for the party’s success, not for any factional interests.
Acknowledging Rathore’s patience and dedication, Raje noted, “Had he not been patient, he would not have helped the party for so long. But this is not easy, neither for you nor for the workers.”
In his response, Rathore expressed his gratitude and commitment to Raje’s guidance. “I will always keep with me the Guru Mantra given to me by Vasundhara Raje. I will keep in mind the warning I have received from the stage,” Rathore stated. He also reiterated his dedication to addressing the concerns of the people, saying, “If you are not happy with the work of the government, then tell us. We will listen to you.”
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma also spoke at the event, praising the collective efforts of party workers under the leadership of Satish Poonia and CP Joshi, which contributed to the BJP’s success in the state. “The way the workers protested against the policies of the previous regime yielded results, and BJP’s government was formed,” Sharma said.
Earlier, Rajya Sabha MP Madan Rathore officially assumed charge as Rajasthan BJP Chief, with party veterans, including Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, present at the ceremony. Rathore performed a puja at the BJP office, marking the beginning of his new role. Notably, Rathore served as the chief whip of the party during Vasundhara Raje’s tenure, a testament to his long-standing commitment and service to the party.
