AIMIM Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi has once again raised strong objections to the Waqf Act, calling it unconstitutional during a hearing in the Supreme Court. Owaisi's remarks come after the Court's decision to not constitute the Central Waqf Council and the State Waqf Council, as well as its stance that "Waqf by user" cannot be deleted from the Act.

Addressing the media after the hearing, Owaisi said, "We consider this Act unconstitutional. The Court has made its position clear, but our fight against the Act will continue." He further highlighted that during the deliberations of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), he had presented a report opposing all the amendments proposed by the government. Owaisi had also raised concerns during the parliamentary debate on the bill, describing it as unconstitutional.

The Waqf Act, which governs the management of properties donated to religious institutions, has been a topic of controversy, with various political leaders and community members voicing differing opinions. Owaisi has been a vocal critic of the Act, stating that it undermines the rights of the Waqf boards and those who manage the properties.

“Our legal battle against this Act will continue,” Owaisi asserted, reaffirming his commitment to challenging the legislation. His comments come in the wake of ongoing discussions around the Waqf Act and its potential implications for religious and community properties.
