New Delhi:  Air India CEO Campbell Wilson has clarified that there were no mechanical faults or maintenance lapses involved in the tragic crash of the airline's Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft last month. His statement came after the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) released its preliminary report, ruling out technical issues as the cause of the fatal incident.

The report, which examined all critical systems of the ill-fated aircraft, confirmed that mandatory maintenance tasks had been completed, the fuel quality met standards, and there was no abnormality during the take-off roll. Additionally, both pilots on duty had passed their pre-flight breathalyser tests, and their medical records were found to be in order.

In the wake of the accident, the airline — under the supervision of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) — conducted a fleet-wide inspection of all Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The CEO confirmed that each aircraft passed the checks and was deemed safe for continued operation.

Wilson reassured the public that Air India continues to operate with full transparency and regulatory compliance, and stands ready to implement any further directives issued by aviation authorities. The airline has also reaffirmed its commitment to safety and passenger trust amid the ongoing investigation.
