In compliance with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) directive issued on July 14, Air India and its budget arm, Air India Express, have successfully concluded precautionary inspections of the Fuel Control Switch (FCS) locking mechanism on all Boeing 787 and 737 aircraft.
The airline stated that the voluntary inspection process had already commenced on July 12 and was completed within the stipulated timeframe. According to the internal findings, no faults or abnormalities were detected during the course of these checks.
Air India has formally notified the aviation regulator about the completion of the inspections and emphasized that the airline remains fully committed to ensuring the highest safety standards for both passengers and crew. These checks were part of proactive safety compliance measures undertaken by the carrier.
The FCS component is a critical safety element in aircraft operations, and recent international advisories prompted regulators to enforce tighter scrutiny. However, Air India clarified that all aircraft in its fleet continue to meet safety parameters, and operations remain unaffected.
