In a fresh twist to the ongoing National Herald case, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav has made a strong statement, criticizing the role of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the investigation. Speaking on the matter, Yadav remarked, "Congress constituted the ED. Today, they are in difficulty due to ED. There are several institutions to look into economic offences. Agencies like ED should be abolished."
Yadav's remarks come in the wake of the ED's chargesheet against Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the alleged money laundering case linked to the National Herald newspaper. The case has sparked a political war of words, with the Congress accusing the ruling government of using agencies like the ED for political vendetta.
