'All Mayors Will Be Ours': Eknath Shinde Sets Ambitious Roadmap After Mahayuti’s Civic Sweep

Buoyed by the Mahayuti alliance’s strong performance in Maharashtra’s civic elections, Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde struck a confident tone while addressing the party’s newly elected corporators. In a closed-door interaction that later echoed through political circles, Shinde outlined his vision for grassroots governance, leadership training, and coordinated development with the state government.

Speaking after the meeting, Shinde said his immediate priority is to mentor first-time corporators and ensure that development work begins swiftly at the ward level. “Many new faces have entered public life through this election. It is my responsibility to guide them, help them understand planning, and ensure that proposals are prepared in a phased manner so that every ward develops properly,” he said. He added that the state government would actively support civic representatives in accelerating local projects.

Projecting unity and dominance within the ruling alliance, Shinde made a bold assertion about the mayoral posts in key urban centres. “Whether it is Thane, Kalyan, Dombivli, Ulhasnagar, or Mumbai, the mayors will be from the Mahayuti alliance,” he declared, signaling the coalition’s intent to consolidate power across Maharashtra’s most influential municipal corporations.

Reflecting on the broader political significance of the results, Shinde described the outcome as a milestone moment for his party. “This victory has established the Shiv Sena as the second-largest party in Maharashtra. It is a moment of pride for all of us,” he said, expressing visible satisfaction over the party’s expanding footprint in urban politics.

Invoking the legacy of the party’s founder, Shinde credited the success to ideological continuity and strong leadership at both state and national levels. “With the blessings of Balasaheb Thackeray and under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Shiv Sena has achieved this success across the state,” he remarked.

He further framed the verdict as a public endorsement of development-focused politics. “We are taking Balasaheb’s thoughts forward. People have accepted development and clearly rejected anti-development politics,” Shinde said, asserting that governance and growth were the decisive factors behind the Mahayuti’s mandate.
