The political war of words escalated on Sunday as BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya launched a blistering attack on Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of deliberately spreading misinformation through his controversial “vote chori” presentation. Malviya branded the Congress MP an “industrial-scale liar” after one of the individuals named by Gandhi publicly rejected the allegations.

Taking to X, Malviya shared a video of Gurkirat Singh Dang, the man Rahul Gandhi had pointed to during his presentation as allegedly casting multiple votes. In the clip, Dang strongly denied the charges and hit back at Gandhi. “Rahul Gandhi is a bad loser. He should either produce proof that I voted four times or apologise for making such false claims,” he said.

Malviya wrote alongside the video: “Gurkirat Singh Dang, whom Rahul Gandhi had singled out during his presentation on so-called Vote Chori, has hit back, calling him a bad loser and demanding that he produce proof to substantiate the allegation that he voted multiple times. This isn’t the first time — every claim Rahul Gandhi has made has collapsed under scrutiny. Rahul Gandhi is an industrial-scale LIAR.”

In his statement, Dang also highlighted the serious fallout of what he called reckless political allegations. “False claims are not mere words. They carry possible consequences, leading to harassment, tarnishing of reputation and undermining public trust in our democracy. Losing an election doesn’t mean they were rigged,” he asserted.

Rahul Gandhi had previously alleged that several irregularities marred the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka, claiming instances of multiple voting. He singled out Dang, alleging that he possessed four voter ID cards and had cast four votes. The BJP swiftly rejected the charge as politically motivated, while Dang has now directly challenged Rahul to prove his accusations.
