BJP leader and MP Anurag Thakur on Wednesday launched a sharp counterattack against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s recent remarks, claiming that her statements reflect “frustration ahead of an inevitable defeat” in the upcoming elections.
Addressing the media during his visit to Kangra, Thakur said the people of Bengal were now prepared to “shake the TMC government to its core” and bring in change after years of alleged misrule.
“The public is ready to shake them up and oust them from power. This statement clearly shows frustration ahead of the coming defeat,” Thakur said.
He further accused the Mamata Banerjee-led government of pushing West Bengal into a crisis marked by “corruption, infiltration, political violence, and rising crime.”
Thakur also referred to recent national political developments, saying: “Despite Rahul Gandhi’s allegations, the NDA secured a massive mandate in Bihar — and now it is Bengal’s turn. The people have made up their minds.”
