In a significant political development ahead of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has finalized its seat-sharing arrangement, signaling unity and strategic preparedness within the ruling coalition. The understanding was reached in a cordial and cooperative atmosphere among the allies.
As per the agreement, both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal (United) will contest 101 seats each in the 243-member Bihar Assembly. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) (LJP-R) will fight on 29 seats, while smaller partners Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) have been allotted six seats each.
The seat distribution has been received positively by party workers and supporters across the state. Leaders from all constituent parties hailed the arrangement as a reflection of the NDA’s internal cohesion and commitment to delivering stable governance in Bihar.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan termed the finalization of seat-sharing as a “sign of maturity and unity” within the alliance, saying it showcases the collective vision of the NDA to ensure Bihar’s development and progress. He added that the cooperation among partners will help the alliance “present a united front against the opposition’s divisive politics.”
Echoing similar sentiments, JD(U) working president Sanjay Kumar Jha posted on X, “NDA's seat-sharing arrangement finalised in Bihar; JD(U), BJP to contest 101 constituencies each in polls to 243-member assembly.”
