In a shocking case from Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, serious allegations of sexual exploitation and dowry harassment have surfaced against the in-laws of BSP chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati’s niece, Alice. The survivor, who is the daughter of Mayawati’s brother, has accused her husband’s family of mental and physical abuse, including attempts to force her into sexual relations with her brother-in-law on the pretext of her husband’s alleged impotence.

Alice married Vishal Singh, a resident of Bank Colony in the Kotwali area of Hapur, on November 9, 2023. Just months into the marriage, she claims, the relationship turned abusive. Her in-laws allegedly began demanding a lavish dowry—an apartment and ₹50 lakh in cash—citing her political connections. 

In a deeply disturbing revelation, Alice has accused her husband of concealing his alleged impotence, reportedly a result of excessive steroid use. Following this, she claims, her in-laws began coercing her to have physical relations with her brother-in-law, Bhupendra alias Monu, in order to conceive a child. 

The abuse escalated on February 17, 2025, when Alice was reportedly assaulted and nearly sexually attacked by her brother-in-law and father-in-law, Shripal Singh—a local BSP leader. Her mother-in-law Pushpa Devi, who currently serves as the chairperson of Hapur Municipal Council, along with other family members, has also been named in the case.

Despite reaching out to both the local Kotwali police station and the Superintendent of Police on separate occasions, Alice’s complaints went unheard.

It was only after she moved the court that a breakthrough came. Following the court's directive, an FIR was finally registered.
