Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that her administration is rigorously enforcing the Centre’s directive regarding the stay of Pakistani nationals in India. This action follows the Indian government’s sweeping decision to revoke all visas issued to Pakistani citizens, effective April 27, 2025.

The move is a direct response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, which left 26 people dead, mostly tourists. The attack has spurred the Indian government into taking swift actions to tighten border security and ensure the safety of its citizens.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Gupta emphasized that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had canceled all categories of visas for Pakistani nationals, with the exception of medical, diplomatic, and long-term visas. Furthermore, the existing medical visas will be invalid after April 29, 2025.

"No new visas will be issued to Pakistani nationals going forward," Gupta wrote. "The Delhi Government is ensuring strict compliance with these orders. Every violation will be tracked, and necessary actions will follow."

The Centre’s decision comes in the wake of India’s ongoing efforts to curb terrorism and secure the safety of its citizens. As tensions rise, the Indian government remains firm on its stance, signaling a resolute approach in the face of ongoing security threats.
