In a significant move to bolster maritime security, the Indian Navy has ramped up its operational presence in the Arabian Sea, particularly within India’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). According to defence sources quoted by a news agency, the Navy is “strengthening presence in the entire area of responsibility in the region,” amid heightened monitoring of any unusual activities.
Warships have been deployed extensively and are on high alert to detect and deter any suspicious maritime movement. In recent times, the Navy has conducted multiple anti-ship and anti-aircraft firings in the area, underlining its readiness and vigilance.
Complementing the Navy’s efforts, the Indian Coast Guard has also deployed vessels in forward positions, especially near the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) off the Gujarat coast. These strategic deployments are aimed at enhancing India’s surveillance and rapid response capabilities across vital maritime corridors.
