Goa Police have intensified their manhunt for Birch By Romeo Lane nightclub owners Saurav Luthra and Gaurav Luthra, who fled India hours after the devastating Arpora nightclub fire that killed 25 people, including staff members and tourists. Officials confirmed that preparations are underway to request Interpol’s assistance, with a Blue Corner Notice likely to be issued soon to help track the duo’s movements abroad.
According to investigators, the Luthra brothers boarded a 5:30 am IndiGo flight to Phuket on December 7, barely hours after flames engulfed their North Goa property late Saturday night. The timing of their departure has deepened suspicions of negligence and evasion, prompting police to widen their probe.
A joint team of Goa and Delhi Police searched the brothers’ residence in GTB Nagar, only to find the house locked. A lookout circular has already been activated, and raids are continuing across several locations in the national capital to identify anyone aiding their escape.
The investigation has also expanded to include their third partner, Ajay Gupta, who is believed to hold financial and operational ties to the club. Gupta is currently untraceable, and police suspect he may also be attempting to leave the country.
Meanwhile, Goa Police have made a series of arrests connected to the operational management of the nightclub. Authorities took into custody Chief General Manager Rajiv Modak, General Manager Vivek Singh, Bar Manager Rajiv Singhania, and Gate Manager Riyanshu Thakur. In addition, Bharat Kohli, a key member of the management team, was arrested in Delhi after a transit remand was secured.
The catastrophic blaze, one of the most severe nightclub fires in recent memory, has sparked questions over safety violations, emergency preparedness, and alleged oversight failures at Birch By Romeo Lane. Investigators are examining whether mandatory clearances, fire exits, and operational protocols were ignored prior to the tragedy.
