A purported video of newly elected Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Patparganj, Ravinder Singh Negi, has surfaced online, in which he is allegedly seen threatening a minor child. The clip, which has gone viral on social media, has triggered widespread criticism.

In the video, Negi can be seen scolding the child for sitting outside someone else's house. When he asked the boy where he lived, the minor responded that he was from a nearby street. The BJP MLA then warned him against sitting outside anyone’s house, saying, "Jail mein band kar denge" (will lock you in jail). He further instructed the child to tell his friends the same, following which the boy left.

Netizens Slam BJP MLA Negi for Behavior

The video has drawn sharp criticism from netizens, with many accusing Negi of misbehaving with the minor. One X (formerly Twitter) user wrote:

"BJP MLA Ravinder Negi is seen misbehaving and threatening a minor boy, saying ‘jail me band kardenge’ in Delhi. Earlier, he was also seen threatening people with dire consequences if they were seen in the area."

Another user commented in Hindi, comparing Negi to his political opponent:

"On one side, there was teacher Avadh Ojha, and on the other side, there was goon Ravi Negi. See whom the public chose."

A third user remarked:

"Situation after BJP's victory in Delhi elections. Negi is a newly elected BJP MLA who is threatening an innocent child—and you will be shocked to know the reason. Now even going out on the streets in Delhi is a crime."

Negi Defends Himself, Talks Tough on Encroachment

Amid the controversy, Negi posted a video on his X handle on Thursday, in which he was seen asking people to vacate government-owned land. He tweeted:

"Any kind of encroachment will not be tolerated at all in Patparganj assembly constituency. For this, I have started strict action, and whoever does illegal construction on government land will be removed from there."

BJP's Resurgence in Delhi

Negi won the Patparganj assembly seat, defeating AAP's Avadh Ojha in the recently concluded Delhi Assembly elections. His victory was part of BJP’s massive comeback in Delhi after 27 years, where the party won 48 seats, while AAP managed to secure only 22 seats.
