Mamata Banerjee: BJP's Dreams Of Toppling TMC Government Will Fail

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday, May 26, stating that their hopes of toppling the democratically elected Trinamool Congress (TMC) government after the Lok Sabha polls will not come true. Speaking at an election rally in Sonarpur, Jadavpur constituency, Banerjee dismissed the BJP's speculation that her government?s days are numbered as mere threats.

"The BJP should not dare try to topple a democratically elected government. Its ambitions for success in the Lok Sabha polls will be shattered, as the people's verdict will be with the TMC," she declared.

Banerjee predicted that the BJP would not win more than 200 seats in the elections and asserted that the Opposition?s I.N.D.I.A alliance will come to power at the Centre.

"My analysis of the last six phases is that the BJP will not cross the 200-seat mark, while the I.N.D.I.A bloc will come to power in Delhi, in which West Bengal and TMC will play a pivotal part," she stated.

Banerjee also accused the BJP and CPI(M) of plotting against West Bengal?s development, claiming they are trying to derail job creation efforts in the state.

"We have already kept 10 lakh jobs ready, but the BJP and its friend CPI(M) are plotting to derail the process. They are anti-Bengal," she alleged.

Her remarks underscore the high stakes and fierce competition as the Lok Sabha elections draw to a close, with the final phase of voting set for June 1 and results to be announced on June 4.
