NCP-SP MLA Rohit Pawar on Saturday said that several unanswered questions continue to trouble the public following the tragic death of senior leader Ajit Pawar in a plane crash on January 28. Stating that concerns are being widely discussed across expert circles, Pawar announced that a detailed press conference will be held in Mumbai on February 10 to formally raise these issues.
Addressing reporters, Rohit Pawar said doubts surrounding the crash are not limited to political circles alone. He noted that aviation experts, pilots, technical professionals, journalists, and independent researchers have all expressed uncertainty about the circumstances of the accident.
“Regarding this accident, there are many questions in people’s minds. When you speak to flying experts, pilots, technical experts, journalists or researchers, everyone has doubts—and we share those doubts as well,” Pawar said. He added that the purpose of the upcoming press conference would be to place these concerns on record and seek clarity. “We will raise all the questions we have, and we hope answers will emerge,” he said.
Earlier in the day, Rohit Pawar cast his vote in the Pune Zilla Parishad–Panchayat Samiti elections. He exercised his franchise at a Zilla Parishad school in Pimpalgaon village in Baramati, marking his participation in the local body polls underway across 12 districts in Maharashtra.
After voting, Pawar paid an emotional tribute to his late uncle, recalling Ajit Pawar’s deep involvement in grassroots politics. He said Ajit Pawar was known for actively campaigning during elections and standing firmly with party workers at every level.
“Dada would always be at the forefront during elections, motivating karyakartas and fighting for them,” he said. “Sadly, he is no longer with us. He always wanted his workers to win and his constituency to progress. I have cast my vote today with that hope.”
Rohit Pawar also clarified that the family has consciously stayed away from political discussions during the mourning period. He said no political deliberations have taken place within the family over the past 10 days and that this pause will continue for the next few days as well.
