Prime Minister Narendra Modi has achieved another major digital milestone, with his official YouTube channel surpassing 30 million subscribers, reinforcing his dominance among global political leaders on the video-sharing platform. The achievement places him significantly ahead of other prominent international figures in terms of subscriber strength and online engagement.
According to publicly available platform data, Modi’s subscriber count is substantially higher than that of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, whose channel has roughly one-fourth the following. The gap becomes even wider when compared to US President Donald Trump, whose subscriber base is reported to be several times smaller.
Within India, the Prime Minister’s digital footprint on YouTube also outpaces key political rivals. His channel reportedly has nearly three times more subscribers than Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. In comparison to party-based channels, Modi’s numbers exceed those of the Indian National Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party by a considerable margin.
Officials attribute this sustained digital growth to consistent content strategy, including speeches, policy announcements, international visits, radio broadcasts, and campaign messaging. Over the years, the channel has served as a direct communication tool, allowing the Prime Minister to reach both domestic and international audiences without traditional media filters.
The YouTube milestone follows another significant achievement on Instagram, where Modi recently crossed 100 million followers. He became the first sitting head of government globally to reach that number on the platform. Since joining Instagram in 2014, his account has steadily expanded, featuring a mix of official updates, cultural highlights, behind-the-scenes moments, and public outreach initiatives.
Digital analysts note that Modi’s cross-platform growth reflects a broader transformation in political communication, where social media presence plays a central role in shaping narratives and voter engagement. His combined subscriber and follower counts across platforms position him among the most digitally influential political figures worldwide.
